Just Released: Preparing Teachers for 21st Century Classrooms, by three leaders from the California State University Collaborative for the Advancement of Linked Learning (CSU CALL), and CCASN’s Annie Johnston. This brief describes the research and policy shifts driving increased integration of academic and Career Technical Education (CTE) at the heart of the college and career school redesign effort. The authors present exemplary CSU efforts to prepare teachers and educational leaders to nurture students’ career goals and provide real-world experiences and systemic supports. Based on this work, they make recommendations for colleges of teacher education to consider in preparing the next generation of teachers and educational leaders for 21st century classrooms.
